This is my second pair, the foot strap came apart after 3 yrs of wear. I always get the boot part removed because I like the back of my feet to show in sandals and I love tie ups, sexy on the leg. My usual size is 8.5 but it had extra toe space, it gives that biscuit toe look, so I purshase size 8, and they feet perfect, entire foot is inside the sole. Oh I have a narrow foot and the foot strap is kinda tight for me, but after a few wears it will eventually stretch a little .stick to regular size if you're ok with extra toe space
